The freshwater lakes of the Central Lakes region are perfect for fishing and boating. Anglers flock to the area for the largemouth bass and other sport fish. In Sebring, the Sebring International Raceway is one of the oldest and most pretigious sports car racing tracks in America with numerous events, such as the 12 Hours of Sebring, scheduled throughout the year. Lakeland is the largest city in the Central Lakes area. When in the city, visit the International Sport Aviation Museum and the Polk Museum of Art. Prominent lakes in the area include Lake Jackson, Lake Marian and Lake Kissimmee, the third largest lake in Florida. Lake Kissimmee State Park provides nearly 6,000 acres of recreational opportunities, including camping, fishing and more. The city of Winter Haven features Cypress Gardens, a park that offers local botanical information, family oriented rides and more.
