This National Historic landmark, on top of the penninusla's highest point, was built by Dutch immigrant Edward W. Bok, writer, publisher and humanitarian in 1929. The Gardens, encompassing a 157 acre woodland, feature a 57 bell carrillon as a focal point. Guests may tour the Pinewood Estate, a Mediterranean Revival-style villa, on a seasonal basis, hike the one mile nature trail or visit the Education and Visitor Center.
